The Film :

A womanizing novelist named Jérôme (Maurice Ronet) is plagued with a bad case of writers block. To help him get his creative juices flowing again he hires Clara (Brigitte Bardot) as his secretary and creative muse. Will Jérôme find the inspiration he needs to get writing again or has he discovered someone deeper and more meaningful?

Video:

The Loins Gate release is leaps and bounds ahead of the previous Anchor bay release. It offers more information on the sides, has more detail and colors and flesh tones look accurate.

Audio:

Both films come with only one audio option French and they both come with English subtitles. The subtitles for both releases are error free and easy to follow. Overall the Loins Gates release audio sounds cleaner and fuller.

Extras:

The Anchor Bay release comes with only one extra a text bio about Brigitte Bardot. The Loins Gate release is only available as part of their Brigitte Bardot box set which comes with one extra a fifteen minute featurette about Brigitte Bardot. The set also comes with four other movies Naughty Girl, Come Dance With me, Love on a Pillow and Two Weeks in September.

Overall:

The Loins Gate release of The Vixen is a nice upgrade to the non out of print Anchor Bay DVD that had a less then stealer audio/video presentation.
