Director Kirdy Stevens follows up his most acclaimed film Taboo with a pair of sequels.

Taboo II: After hearing about his best friend Paul’s incestuous relationship with his mother, a young man named Junior decides to it is time to explore his own incestuous desires with his family.

After a recap of the events which occurred in Taboo. This sequel picks up shortly after the events of that aforementioned film. Premise wise Taboo II is essentially larger scale version of its predecessor. Where the first film focused on a mother and her son. Taboo II features a whole family, son, daughter, mother and father and the mother from the first film and her other son.

The narrative is well constructed and the film does a great job spreading out each new revelation of family love. When it comes to the sex scenes this film delivers and then some. There are nine sex scenes and a few of the standout sex scenes include, the scene where Kevin James in the role of the brother seduces his sister with the help of a girlfriend. And a scene where Dorothy Lemay in the role of the daughter seduces her father while mother is asleep in bed next to them.

Not to be overlooked are the performances from the entire cast who all are great in their respective roles. This film’s most memorable performance is Kevin James in the role of Junior, the sex obsessed son. Other standout performances include, Honey Wilder and the ever reliable Eric Edwards (The Private Afternoons of Pamela Mann) in the roles of Junior’s mother and father.

Taboo III: Afraid of pushing her other son away, a mother tries to contain her sexual desires for her son.

Where Taboo II puts the focus on a different family. Taboo III returns the focus to the original family. With this time around the mother character fighting her urges for her younger son, since the son she had the taboo relationship went to live with his father.

Content wise, this film retreads ground that was better executed in the previous two films. With this film’s main twist just being a shift from one son to another son. Another area where this film does not gel as well is when it comes to the more dramatic moments and more specifically when it comes to moments involving a band that the son character manages. The two scenes where the band plays their music are not essential to the grander scheme of things and trimming them down in size would not affect the overall flow of the narrative.

When it comes to the sex scenes they lack the forbidden fruit vibe that defined the sex scenes in the first two films. There are eleven sex scenes and a few of the standout sex scenes include, an orgy scene with Colleen Brennan (Alice Goodbody) and Ron Jeremy who portrays a sleazy record company A&R man. And the film’s final where the mother character finally succumbs to the desires that tormented her the entire film.

Performances wise the entire are all good in their respective roles. With the most memorable performances being Kay Parker (SexWorld) in the role of Barbara, the mother and Jerry Butler (Snake Eyes) in the role of Jimmy, the son. Other recognizable faces in the cast include, Blake Palmer (All American Girls II: In Heat, Sister Dearest) in the role of Jimmy’s best friend Brian who has similar mother issues and Marc Wallice (Trashy Lady) in the role of Billy, the pizza delivery boy.

The BluRay:

Taboo II and Taboo III come on a 50 GB dual layer BluRay. The film is presented in a 1080 progressive widescreen. Both films have been given brand new 2k transfers from 35mm vault elements. Outside of some very minor print debris, both of these transfers easily look the best they ever have on home video to date. Colors look nicely saturated, details look sharp, grain looks natural and there are no issues with DNR or compression.

Each film comes with one audio option, a DTS-HD mono mix in English. There are no issues with background noise or distortion. Dialog comes through clearly and everything sounds balanced.

Extras for this release include, reversible cover art, a trailer for Taboo II (5 minutes), Kay Parker’s personal script for Taboo III and an interview with actor Blake Palmer (19 minutes 37 seconds).

Topics discussed in the interview with Blake Palmer includes, how he got into the adult film industry, Suze Randall, his thoughts on the Golden age of adult cinema, Kay Parker, Jerry Butler, the acting side of adult film’s and how much the industry has changed over the years.

Also, included with this release is a DVD that has the same content included on the Blu-Ray included as part of this combo release. Overall another solid release from Vinegar Syndrome.
