In what is clearly an attempt to capitalize upon the increasing visibility of older adult titles making the rounds from such labels as Vinegar Syndrome and Distribpix, this latest DVD release from One Seven Movies unearths a relic of the triple X video age…only without the style and, indeed, substance which has defined many of the films from those aforementioned companies.
No, instead Sweet and Perverse Milly is a basic fuck film, a workmanlike shot on video flick which limps lifelessly from one sex scene to another, with a minimum amount of dialog and characterization, other than the “fish out of water” tale of Italian sex star Milly D’Abbraccio screwing her way across the United States. D’Abbraccio herself is the only performer of note here with any sort of screen presence, charisma or enthusiasm, as the star seems to be cut from a similar mold to fellow Italian porn stars Moana Pozzi or Cicciolina, albeit not on the same level of the latter Ms. Ilona Staller, who appeared in a number of straight films throughout the 1970s and 80s as a legitimate actress.
D’Abbraccio by comparison doesn’t hit those thespian notes, but instead just engages in a bunch of perversity, disappears for an unsexy, unrelated, over-long orgy scene (not to mention a transsexual sequence out of nowhere) then reappears to engage in a threesome before BAM, end of movie. No more, no less. It’s a been there-done that experience which shouldn’t surprise anyone who’s seen any adult movie since 1989 and expects what’s simply the bare bones, basic porn experience.
Sweet and Perverse Milly is presented in its standard, full frame ratio from the original video release. There are no extras, audio or video errors. Although this film was apparently “supervised” by adult film legend Gerard Damiano, that nebulous, blanket term means little when viewing what is a very average VHS from the not so golden age of porn.
