Sin was directed by Nico B whose other films credits include, Bettie Page: Dark Angel, Pig and 1334.

The plot is essentially an exploration of sin throughout the decades. With each of the three stories taking place during a different era from the past.

The first tale titled Lady of East revolves around an Egyptian dancer who seduction of an American leads to a violent outcome. The second tale titled Le Modele revolves around a sculptors’ model, a nun and a priest who all participate in various acts of debauchery. The third tale The Maid revolves legless drug addicted aristocrat and his new voluptuous maid.

What this film lacks in conventional narrative structure is more than makes up for with its striking imagery. And no moment is more shocking then a scene during the second story that involves religious symbols like a cross that is used like a sex toy. Also anyone who is familiar with Cult Epics output will clearly see, Tinto Brass, Joe D’Amato and Walerian Borowczyk’s influence on this film.

The BluRay:

Sin comes on a 25 GB single layer BluRay. This release has been flagged for progressive playback and the film is presented in its intended 1.33:1 aspect ratio. All content including extras have been given HD transfers that have been sourced from their super 8mm sources. Also there are no issues with DNR or compression and grain looks natural.

The main feature Sin comes with one audio option, a Dolby Digital stereo mix. This film plays like a silent film with only a music playing in the background. There is no spoken dialog.

Extras for this release include, three teasers for Sin, Nude Outtakes (5 minutes 14 seconds) and six super 8 silent films, Slime (5 minutes 26 seconds), Tarzan Acapulco (3 minutes 55 seconds), Chelsea Hotel (49 seconds), Chelsea Hotel II (1 minute 6 seconds), Ville Jean Cocteau (3 minutes 19 seconds) and The Painter (2 minutes 9 seconds). Content wise, the six short films like the main feature would be best described as Avant Garde.

Rounding out the extras is a sixty-four-page booklet with original storyboard drawings by Brian M. Viveros. Also included with this release is a DVD that has the same content included on the Blu-Ray included as part of this combo release. Overall Sin makes its way to home video via an exceptional release from Cult Epics.
