Sexual Heights is the story of four divorced men who drink and watch porno tapes. Hershel Savage relates the situation that broke up his marriage, his attempted rape of the babysitter played by Tawny Pearl. So the guys devise a plan for revenge sex against the tawdry tease. This involves some madcap farce including guys in drag and Hershel gives a very appealing performance as the misogynistic pig with a heart of gold. Other sex scenes appear to be tacked on as filler, but the climatic orgy featuring Holly McCall, Lysa Thatcher, Lolita Grant, Tawny Pearl, Jamie Gillis, Jesse Adams, and Michael Morrison certainly delivers the goods. John Holmes is barely present in Undulations but has noticeable screen time here, including some non-sex dialog scenes. This featured role for Tawny Pearl was the penultimate of her career and the end result is a very solid effort overall.
Undulations portrays a televised sex talk show featuring Gillis and Holmes with Suzanne French, Kitty Shayne, and Mai Lin. It’s a sketchy idea padded out to feature length by inclusion of additional scenes almost like a loop carrier. The best one features a brunette with a young Jon Martin who comes across as a girl next door rather than a porno starlet. The image is sharp but the lighting is rather slipshod with harsh shadows on the walls, the better to see the wall-to-wall sex action in this rather mediocre title.
As usual, Vinegar Syndrome presents both transfers in the OAR widescreen aspect ratio. Taken from the original 35mm camera negatives Sexual Heights is a much more professional effort than the quickly thrown together second feature. Nevertheless, both titles look exceptional as do the associated theatrical trailers.
