Synopsis: A young man’s carefree lifestyle finally catches up with him, when trio of life altering events occur on the same day. He is fired from his job, he catches his girlfriend cheating on him and his landlord evicts him. With nowhere to go he encounters a homeless man on a park bench who gives him a blanket to keep warm and a bottle with a genie in it. Then after a good nights sleep he awakens to finds himself in bed on the beach with two naked women. From there he quickly realizes the advantage of having a genie at his disposal and he uses her powers to help him woo the woman of his dreams.

On the surface though this film has many of trappings that one would associate with the romance comedy genre. Fortunately, the end result is something that expands beyond the parameters of this genre. With the film’s heavy emphasis on all thing fantasy related.

The film’s narrative is straight forward and pacing is never an issues as the lead character with the assistance of his genie move from crazy moment to the next. And when it comes to humor related moments this is where the film shines the brightest. And not to be overlooked are this film’s more dramatic moments which keep this film from being an all-out farce. With the film’s finale serving up a very satisfying conclusion.

There is no denying that the characters which populate this film are stereotypical examples that can be found in countless other similar themed films. Ultimately this proves to work in this film’s favor with the entire cast fully embracing the caricatures they are portraying.

Cast in the role of this film’s protagonist is Dean Cameron in the role of Scotty McKay. Cameron is most remembered for performance in the film Summer School and many of his subsequent roles would be carbon copies of Francis ‘Chainsaw’ Gremp, the character he portrayed in that film. This film other key performance is Ami Dolenz (She’s Out of Control) in the role of the Jeannie. She more than fills the role of the dream girl. Other notable cast members include, Alexis Arquette in the role one of Scotty’s sidekicks, Vincent Schiavelli (Fast Times at Ridgemont High) in the role of a mystic, Martin Mull (Mr. Mom) in the role of a sleazy movie producer, Dean Cain (Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman) and Pat Morita (The Karate Kid) in the role of Gus, the homeless man who gives Scotty the bottle with a Jeannie in it.
