Pleasure Maze and Lovers Lane were directed by Duck Dumont, whose other notable films include, Passion Pit and Sex Dreams on Maple Street.

Pleasure Maze: In the future human prostitution has been replaced by androids that have been programmed to fulfill their human client’s desires.

When it comes to adult cinema pretty everything is far game and though there have been a few forays into the realm of science fiction. This is the one genre that tends to lost in translation. With films like SexWorld and Café Flesh, being two of the best examples of adult themed Sci-Fi films.

The premise for this Sci-Fi themed adult film takes inspiration from Blade Runner. And though this is sexualized take on that aforementioned film. This is where any similarities between these two films end. With Pleasure Maze’s anemic narrative being nothing more than a means to loosely strong together a series of sex scenes.

The cast for Pleasure Maze feature several recognizable faces like Nina Hartley, Joanna Storm (Never Sleep Alone) and Amber Lynn (Corporate Assets) in the role of Delta, the latest and most advanced ‘nightdroid’. Notable male cast members include, Jerry Butler (Taboo IV) and Joey Silvera (That’s Outrageous) in the role of Parker, a character that was clearly inspired by Blade Runner’s Rick Deckard.

Though the sex scenes are well executed. They are limited due to the majority of them taking place in one room. Standout sex scenes include, a ménage à trois involving Joanna Storm, Nina Hartley and Jon Martin. And the film’s finale where Joey Silvera’s character gets the honor of testing out Delta ‘nightdroid’.

Lovers Lane: A group of friends reminisce about their sexual adventures on Lovers Lane.

The narrative for Lovers Lane is told via a series of flashbacks that provide backstory for this film’s two main female characters. And performance wise it is this film’s two leads actresses Tracey Adams (Pretty Peaches II) Susan, thee friend whose mind was opened sexually by her friend Rhonda and Barbara Dare (Evil Toons) in the role of the sexually precocious Rhonda, who carry this film.

The sex scenes are all very good and they deliver an ample amount of heat. With this film’s standout sex scenes being, a scene Rhonda gets sandwich by two bikers while having a picnic at Lovers Lane. And a ménage à trois involving Susan, Rhonda and a peeping tom police officer.

The DVD:

Vinegar Syndrome present both films in anamorphic widescreen that preserves their intended aspect ratios. Both films have been scanned and restored in 2k from their 35mm negative’s. The sources are in great shape, details look crisp and there are no issues with compression.

Each film comes with one audio option, a Dolby Digital mono mix in English. Both audio mixes sound, clean, clear and balanced throughout.

Extras for this release include, trailers for Pleasure Maze (1 minute 48 seconds) and Lovers Lane (1 minute 33 seconds).

Overall another solid double feature release from Vinegar Syndrome.
