Synopsis: The citizen of Amsterdam are inflicted with a deadly virus that turns them into flesh eating maniacs.

Zombies are everywhere, television and way to many movies to list them all. And this phenomena does not just reside here is the United States since various countries around the world have been dipping into the zombie pool. With that being said it was only a matter of time before we got a zombie film from the Netherlands, whose film industry is most known icons include director Paul Verhoeven (RoboCop, Basic Instinct) and actor Rutger Hauer (Blade Runner, The Hitchhiker). This brings us to Kill Zombie! the Netherlands answer to the zombie sub-genre.

Content wise, it should not surprise anyone that what occurs in this film is nothing new that has not been done in countless other zombie films. And yet the result is not a complete loss as the film is actually a satisfying mix of humor and bloodletting.

The plot revolves around a group of people who fate has brought together and they must join forces if they want to survive the flesh eating psychopaths. Also the film features an absurd sub plot where one of the characters who is obsessed with a co-worker who is way too hot and out his league. She is trapped inside the building they work at and she calls him wanting to be rescued. Fortunately this sub plot leads to one of this films better on going comedy bits.

From a production stand point there is not a single are that is lacking. Visuals are strong throughout and the special effects look very good, especially considering the budgetary limitations. The make-up for the flesh eaters is very effective and there is an ample of amount of gore in this film. And it is hard to fault the enthusiastic performances of the entire cast who all go for broke.

Overall once you get past this films air of familiarity the end result is something that stands well enough on its own in a sub-genre that has by this point become a parody of itself.

The BluRay:

Kill Zombie! comes on a 25 GB single layer BluRay. The film is presented in a 1080 progressive widescreen. Details look sharp, colors look robust and there are no issues with DNR or compression.

This release comes with two audio options, a DTS-HD 5.1 mix in Dutch and a Dolby Digital Stereo mix in Dutch. The DTS-HD 5.1 mix sound great throughout as dialog is always clear and balanced. Range wise this audio mix is very action especially during more action heavy moments and the more ambient moments are also well represented. The other mix included with this release sounds clear and balanced throughout. Also included with this release are removable English subtitles.

Extras for this release are limited to a trailer for the film and trailers for other titles also available from Well Go USA. Overall Kill Zombie! gets a solid audio / video presentation from Well Go USA.

Note: This film is also being released by Well Go USA on DVD.
