Justine and Juliette, is loosely based on the works of Marquis de Sade. Mac Ahlberg who is best know for his cinematography for such films’ like Re-Animator and From Beyond directed Justine and Juliette under the alias Bert Torn. The two leads characters couldn’t be more different Justine is shy and intimidated by sex while Juliette is in heat and gets it nay way she can. Justine is played by Swedish sex bomb Marie Forså who originally rose to prominence after making an unrelated trilogy of films with Joseph W. Sarno. The other sister Juliette is played by Anne Bie Warburg an actress who only made a handful of films over a couple of years.
Mac Ahlberg direction is exceptional as he handles the sex scenes with the utmost attention to making the shots and action erotic. The sex scenes are a mixture of both soft-core and hard core sex. The bulk of the hardcore takes place during to live sex shows at a nightclub and the orgy at the end of the film. It is not surprising that the films two leads Marie Forså and Anne Bie Warburg only have soft core sex scenes. Legendary porno stud Harry Reems in the ultimate male fantasy role of a rich tycoon who spends his every moment drinking and fucking beautiful women. Reems is a beast as he takes on all challengers. Justine and Juliette plot is not that original then how many times can the Marquis de Sade be adapted and retain its originality.
Justine and Juliette is presented in an anamorphic widescreen that preserves the films original 1.66:1 aspect ratio. Outside of some minor print damage colors are in good shape and flesh tones look healthy. The print used for this release is uncut. Overall while there are some minor flaws the image still looks pretty good for an adult film from this era.
This release comes with one audio option the films original Swedish language track which is presented in a Dolby Digital mono. The audio is fairly clean outside of some minor hiss. Dialog is easy to follow and music and effects sound evenly balanced. Removable English subtitles have been included.
The release comes with no extra content.
Overall Justine and Juliette is a chic adult film made at the height of Swedish erotica in the 1970’s and Impulse Pictures release while short on any extra content comes with a solid audio/video presentation, recommended.
