Vampire Ecstasy: Helga (Marie Forså) and Monika are descendents of a lesbian vampire named Baroness Varga. In order for the two women to collect their inheritance they must stay at the Baroness’s castle for one year. The Baroness Varga needs one of these two women’s body to house her reincarnated soul. Peter and his sister Julia a doctor who studies local superstitions are left stranded outside of the Baroness’s castle when their car breaks down. They seek refugee in the castle and Julia quickly discovers the evil that is present in the castle.

Vampire Ecstasy would mark Joseph W. Sarno’s one and only foray into the world of lesbian vampires. The film relies more on imagery then dialog which is sparse. There are many beautiful women in this film and every one of them get naked before the film is over. The story is pretty standard still Sarno’s mesmerizing photography lift what might be in a lesser director’s hands an average film at best. Overall Vampire Ecstasy is more erotic and seductive then any of Jean Rollin’s lesbian vampire films.

Girl Meets Girl: Bibi (Marie Forså) is a young girl who goes to visit her aunt Toni in the big city. Bibi shortly after her arrival quickly learns the ways of the big city as she is seduce by all of her aunts friends.

Girl Meets Girl is essentially a series of sexual adventures that are rounded out by minimal dialog in between each sex scene. The soft core scenes fail to fully pay off even though they are full of erotic images. This films major flaw is how it comes ever so close to being a hardcore film and it stops just short of becoming one which ends up being a let down. Joseph W. Sarno excels when making soft core films and films like this one where he was pressured into making something harder then his normal fare really stand out like a sore thumb among his other films. Overall the main reason to watch this film would be to see the lovely Marie Forså who’s body whether clothed or naked is guaranteed to get your blood pressure rising.

Butterflies: Denise (Marie Forså) is a bored country girl who goes to the big city with dreams of becoming a model.

The premise of a pure country girl who goes to the big city and loses her innocence may not be exactly original, still the way the story is set helps lift what is basically a film with a razor thin plot above average material. This film besides featuring the luscious Marie Forså also features American hardcore icons Eric Edwards and Harry Reems. The addition of Edwards and Reems adds plenty of heat too film as the sex scenes are electrifying. Butterflies for Joseph W. Sarno would mark the end of an era as he would finally move from softcore to hardcore sex films. Overall despite a non existent plot, this exploitation film works mostly due to its performers who totally immerse themselves during the sex scenes.

The DVD:

All three films Vampire Ecstasy, Girl Meets Girl and Butterflies which are included as part of the Girl Meets Girl Collection are all presented in a full frame aspect ratio of about 1.33:1 and the image looks like it is an open matte presentations for these films. Vampire Ecstasy had been previously released by Seduction Cinema under the title Devil’s Plaything and this release of the film presented the film in an anamorphic widescreen. All three films outside of some very minor instances of print damage have nicely saturated colors and the image exhibits an exceptional amount of detail through out.

All three films come with only one audio option each their original English language audio track which is presented for this release in a Dolby Digital Stereo. The dialog needs to be turned up during a few scenes as it sounds a tad too thin. The music sounds fuller then the rest of the mix as I found myself adjusting the volume more then once. Overall the audio mixes for all three of these films are more then adequate and they get the job done.

Extras for this release include a trailer gallery for the films of Joseph W. Sarno which have been released by Seduction Cinema so far and few title that are to be released in the near future. There is also a trailer gallery for other current and future Seduction Cinema releases. Other extras include three featurette’s one for each film which include comments from Joseph W. Sarno and Chris D. Nebe about each of the films included in this set. The main extras for this release are three feature length audio commentaries one for each film with producer Chris D. Nebe who has plenty to say about these films and working with Joseph W. Sarno. Also include with this set is a CD with music from all three films. Rounding out the extras is a collectable booklet which included comments on all three films and Joseph W. Sarno and is it written by Michael Bowen.

Seduction Cinema’s Girl Meets Girl Collection is a fully loaded set that includes three amazing exploitation films from one of the last great soft core directors Joseph W. Sarno, highly recommend.
