The Fold is a web series that cleverly mixes satire and sexual themes in the futuristic setting. At the core of The Fold is its witty dialog most of which is sexually themed. In this futuristic world in which the fold takes place everyone’s lives are dominated by sex.
A scientist named Cody invents a time machine. Cody’s father whose company has invested in the development of the time machine hopes it will be used to bring back the family values of the past that have become all but extinct in this future world. One of the best lines in this series is when Cody’s father says “I’m not going to let time travel go the way of the internet”. This is a reference of how the internet was overrun by pornography. It is amusing that Mr. Ferguson has hopes of bringing back the family values from a by-gone area when his son the Cody is using the time machine to take away the virginity of Joan of Arc.
The production design, acting and directing are all exceptional. Each new episode heightens ones anticipation for what is going to happen next and how everything will turn out in the end. Ultimately The Fold is an adult themed web series that never shy’s away from its provocative subject.
Note: The first Episode of The Fold aired on August 4th, 2008. The second episode is set to premier on August 18th, 2008. For more about The Fold visit its website here.
