Synopsis:Christina Von Belle (Jewel Shepard) is an heiress who has an unbelievable sex drive. One day she is kidnapped by an organization of lesbians named “The Ten of November” who want her family to pay a ransom and while they wait they have their way with Christina. Eventually she is able to escape from her lesbian capture sonly to find herself in the hands of smugglers who also want to collect the ransom. How long will she remain captive before her family finally pays the ransom? The premise for Christina is pretty good, “an heiress being kidnapped and held for ransom”. The execution of the idea and the scenes that evolved out this idea only get more chaotic as the film progresses. The opening moments up in the tell Christina is Kidnapped are the films strongest and there only short comings is that there is little if any truly erotic moments. The middle section while she is being held captive by the lesbian mercenaries is nothing but filler as we get to see a few cat fights and plenty of lesbian loving. The rest of the film and the films final resolution feel anticlimactic.
One scene that needs to be mentioned because of its sheer absurdity occurs when Christina is racing a boyfriend who is his own car. Anyway his car crashes and he lay unconscious. So how does she help him she gives him a blowjob to revive him. Also very early on there is narrator who quickly becomes annoying and during some of these scenes while he is talking Christina looks into the camera and talks to the audience. The films soundtrack sounds dated.
This film also features three actresses who have spent most of their career making erotic cinema Josephine Jacqueline Jones (Black Venus), Karin Schubert (Ubalda, All Naked and Warm) and the films star Jewel Shepard in one of her first starring roles. Jewel Shepard plays Christina Von Belle who is not only an heiress she is also an investigative reporter like the Emmanuelle character as they both travel the world investigating their carnal desires. The film does have some strong points like its exotic locations and the copious amounts of beautiful women on display.
The DVD:
The Private Screening Collection release of Christina presents the film in its original full frame aspect ratio. Colors look vivid and flesh tones look natural. Black levels remain strong through out as details look sharp in the background and foreground. Overall this is one of the better transfers that I have seen from The Private Screening Collection to date.
This release comes with one audio option an English language track in Dolby Digital mono. There are no problems with hiss, distortion or any other major sounds defects. Music and effects sound full and balanced. Dialog is easy to understand through out.
This is a barebones affair as there are no extras to speak of and besides the film this DVD comes with a basic menu that offers two options a play all or scene selection option. Christina is an ambitious soft core feature that never fully achieves its lofty goals. The Private Screening Collection Christina DVD comes with a first rate audio/video performance and once again extras content is missing.
