Synopsis: Bored with the daily routine of their job, a pair of maids spice their lives up by having sex with several of the guests at the hotel where they work.

Made during the golden age of porn this film and its anemic plot is one countless quickies shot that were more concerned with profits then any artistic aspirations. The film’s opening and ending dialog moments give all we need to know about whom everyone is and what there angle is?

Of course when it comes to sex scenes they make up the majority of this film’s running time. And for the most part these sex scenes are overly mechanical in execution, with the only sex scene leaving any indelible mark being a scene between Eric Edwards (The Private Afternoons of Pamela Mann) and Mary Stuart (The Passions of Carol).

On performance side of things the actors are not given enough to work with. They are just mere props, a means to an ends and nothing more.

Overall The Chambermaids is a fairly routine adult film that quickly gets bogged down in its own predictability.

The DVD:

The Chambermaids is presented in its intended 1.33:1 aspect ratio. The source used has nicks, starches and other print related debris that varies in degree throughout. Also though colors for the most part fare well, there are some instances of muted colors. Details generally look crisp and there are no issues with compression.

This release comes with one audio option, a Dolby Digital mono mix in English. Dialog comes through clearly and everything sounds balanced.

There is no extra content included with this release which comes with a static menu with two options, play film or chapter selection. Overall considering the age and rarity of this Impulse Pictures gives it a good audio / video presentation.
