Anticipation: Unable to rekindle the attraction that they once had with their wives, two brothers become infatuated with each others wife.

Things are slow moving for this one early on and it is not until after Joey Silvera’s character gets out of jail for allegedly shooting his wife’s lover that things start to come together and from there move along briskly. This early plot device serves as not much more then to showcase how promiscuous the wife character is and her lover at this point in the film is someone who is unrelated to her husband. The aforementioned wife swapping does not happen until after her husband returns home from jail.

Where the first half gets a little bogged down by dialog driven moments. The latter half of the film is virtually wall to wall sex scenes which are best described as serviceable. The three sex scenes that leave the strongest lasting impact are each brother has a dream sequence where they imagine having sex with the other brothers’ wife and of course the film’s finale which find’s Carlos Tobalina returning to familiar ground with an orgy sequence.

Flesh Pond: Two escaped convicts hold a group of swingers’ hostage.

Where Anticipation had a more fantasy vibe to it. Flesh Pond takes on a much darker tone as the majority of the film there are two escaped convicts who use their guns to intimidate their hostages. Fortunately things never get real nasty and their threats mostly amount to nothing more than words. Also this is yet another film from Carlos Tobalina that opens with a lengthy setup before any nudity, let alone sex occurs. And when the first moment of fornication does finally arrive it is a dancer who has been hired by the swingers to put on s show and part of her act is having sex with a male sex doll.

From there the remainder of the sex scenes or should one really say sex scene is a prolonged sex sequence that takes up the remainder of the film. Surprisingly this sex sequence which takes place in one room is actually one of the better that I have seen to date from Carlos Tobalina. He does a great job mixing up the sex with occasion banter between the swingers and the two escaped convicts.

The DVD:

Vinegar Syndrome present both films in anamorphic widescreen that preserves their intended aspect ratios. The sources used for both are in great shape and any print related damage is minimal. Colors and flesh tones look accurate and details generally look crisp. Also there are no issues with compression and edge enhancement is kept to a minimum.

Each film comes with one audio option, a Dolby Digital mono minx in English. Both sound clean, clear and balanced throughout.

Extras for this release are limited to a trailer for each film. Overall another strong release from Vinegar Syndrome that is on par with their other Carlos Tobalina releases.
