His humble beginnings began for years as a camera operator. Lance’s first two features both stem from a dark horror background while both features are completely different attempts at this.
Known worldwide for his collaboration with Stefan Avalos for the digital feature, The Last Broadcast: A mockumentary of a public access program “fact or fiction” driving deep into the Pine Barrens with the aide of a psychic, searching for “The Jersey Devil.” Many viewers found The Blair Witch Project similar while Germany bundled this feature together with The Last Broadcast as a two-disc set.
Using gurella film making techniques and the beginnings of digital cinematography, this launched The Last Broadcast into cult status. The first movie created on desktops delivered the film digitally into theaters via satellite. Using the latest DLP technology, Digital Projections Incorporated help screened the film at numerous film festivals. With an extremely tight budget of only $900 for the film, sponsorship made this come about.
After a television project fell though with FOX, Weiler funneled his deep depression and created Head Trauma. 126-thousand dollar project taking 3 times longer to film than expected, it equals the results of million-dollar films. Filmed in HDV with the master resized up to HD standards, Head Trauma’s cinematic atmosphere was captured. This psychological thriller unfolds as George Walker fights to rebuild from the shambles of his deteriorating past. Instead, George discovers what he’s left so carefully hidden.
